Move On 02:09
MOVE ON Move on there’s nothing to see No cause I can’t til we both understand And I won’t stand back won’t stand back Now I’ve made my bed so let me lie in it It’s on The fight for the age Now we can stand up and rattle our cage And we won’t stand back won’t stand back Now we’ve made our bed so let us lie in it Now we’ve made our bed so let us lie in it

TAP THAT VEIN I’m riding in a tank / I don’t know who to thank / That privilege is reserved for certain persons of a certain rank / But things are going well / As far as I can tell / The bees have lost their radar and I’ve lost my sense of smell / And roses in a clump are headed for the dump / I guess it’s all related to some kind of economic slump / An enterprising type would say the time is ripe / and try to find a way to make disaster pay / A-whoo now we’re gonna come and tap that vein, yeah we’re lookin for a well to drain / Now you tell us everything you know or we’re never gonna let you go / Now we’re gonna come and tap that vein / Yeah we’re lookin for a well / But you said it would last forever / How was I to know Things happen randomly / Well better them than me / I never felt connected til they made me pay a monthly fee / With all the fauna gone / We’ll put the sauna on / And just pretend it’s all a natural phenomenon / It’s hard to talk because I’ve got my special armour on / And no I’m not a scholar but I’m near encyclopedic on the symptoms of decline. And if your god was mine / I would admonish him for having grandiose designs / A-whoo now / we’re gonna come and tap that vein / yeah we’re lookin for a well to drain / Now you tell us everything you know or we’re never gonna let you go / Yeah we’re gonna come and tap that vein, yeah we’re lookin for a well / But you said it would last forever / How was I to know / Yeah you said it would last forever / How was I to know

Pack Of Dogs 03:12
Pack Of Dogs All your funny ideas that have traveled through time will be proven all wrong when they fuck up our lives So tell me you'll side with me against a society where people fall on each other like a pack of dogs and such rapacious behaviour is rewarded all the time You know I mean it cause I sing it out Just gimme your hands cause we've forgotten how to love Well they're comin on strong and they're comin on light And they come from the left and they come from the right The hammer is comin down And who's gonna stop it now when people fall on each other like a pack of dogs and such rapacious behaviour is rewarded all the time You know I mean it cause I'll sing it out Just gimme your hands we've all forgotten how to love Well the moment I'm here is the moment I'm gone It's been goin that way since before I was born So tell me you'll side with me and build a society where people call on each other when they need it most though they're all so vulnerable to changing tides You're no exception as you're finding out You're no exception as you're finding out I don't believe No I don't believe that we've forgotten how to love

Warm Sun 02:17
WARM SUN You want it so you grab it You can keep what you can take But having is a habit And it’s getting hard to break I have not, but I’m trying Trying to engage Texting and replying Sending messages to space Some think it’s all over And there’s nothing left to say But I won’t sit here quiet While they throw it all away With answers all around us Obvious as the day Warm sun in abundance And it’s pouring in from space

Shift 01:15
SHIFT Everything we’ve ever done Or ever lost or ever won Was only leading up to this A special shift in emphasis I know I’m kind of sensitive Forgive me if It gets a bit repetitive But this is what I’m working with The infinite There’s such a vast amount of it Much of it is counterfeit It’s hard to find a way to get out of it They're gonna make us work for it Just a little bit Haven’t seen the worst of it And maybe we’ll never know What the purpose is Keep breaking through the surfaces And trying to interpret it And learn from it Even if it hurts a bit

about

A couple of months ago I decided I would put out a batch of politically-minded songs in time for the US Election. I knew I wanted to call it 'Just Watch TV and Worry'. I finished it on the night of the election and posted it close to midnight, just as the reality of a Trump presidency was beginning to set in. These songs were always intended as charms against power and its abuses, as acts of resistance, gestures towards a better world, and as such they are only as good as they are useful. I hope they can be of some use to you, and that they can provide a little light in a dark moment.

"It's on / The fight for the age / Now we can stand up and rattle our cage"
